LANDFILL METHANE
GAS
COLLECTION
PROGRAM
With $100,000 grant
funding from the Solid Waste District, the Wood County Landfill is
moving forward with the installation of a methane gas utilization
system
The methane gas collected
from the Landfill will be used to generate electricity.
A grant request has been
submitted to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for funding to
help construct the landfill gas generating facility. The gas vents
and piping are already in place. The grant will help purchase
generating equipment to connect to the electrical lines constructed
for the wind turbines.
